Sewage, or domestic/municipal wastewater, is mostly the flushed human waste from Toilets which is known as Blackwater and the waste liquid from Baths, Showers, Kitchens, Clothes and Sinks, known as Greywater, draining into sewers and is generated by residential, institutional, commercial and industrial establishments. This sewage is characterized by volume or rate of flow, physical condition, chemical, toxic constituents, and its bacteriologic status (which organisms it contains and in what quantities).

The separation and treatment of Grey and Blackwater is very crucial for a healthy and sustainable world but the reality is that over 90% of the wastewater produced globally remains untreated (as per UNDP & UN-Habitat), causing widespread water and soil pollution. The sludge accumulated must be treated and disposed off in a safe and effective manner. The purpose of degradation is to reduce the amount of organic matter and the number of disease-causing microorganisms present in the sludge. The most common treatment options include anaerobic digestion, aerobic digestion, and composting.

Sludge treatment depends on the amount of solids generated and other site-specific conditions. Most commonly, Aerobic degradation is applied to STP treatment and Bio-remediation of water bodies while Anaerobic degradation for Septic Tanks. The specially developed bio cultures, Sewage CARE Aerobic (for aerobic degradation) and Sewage CARE Anaerobic (for anaerobic degradation) make the treatment process simpler, faster and economical. 

Sewage Care variants are home grown, home manufactured products having a blend of bacterial strains and nutrients. This blend of microorganisms, micro/macro-nutrients  and surface tension suppressants/penetrants falicitates the multiplication of bacteria and accelerates the reaction and decomposition.
